Please pull as far forward as possible. Please wait until you are in front of the school before dropping your student off. Sometimes it's a matter of seconds before the whole carpool lane needs to move up to keep traffic flowing.
Students may be dropped off after 7:40 am. Students who are eating breakfast may arrive after 7:40 am. An adult will be at the main crosswalk in order to safely supervise car and pedestrian traffic.
The Green and Yellow lanes are available for morning drop off. The warning bell rings at 8:10 am (8:05 am for Middle School) and school begins at 8:15 am (8:10 am).
Drivers must enter through furthest west entrance only. At no time should drivers use the exits as an entrance. If a parent/guardian has daily need to access handicapped parking, please talk to administration. They will help you establish the safest means of a driver getting to these dedicated stalls.
Drivers who have specific needs to pick up student(s) by a particular time should discuss this need with the front office. Excelsior Academy asks that drivers line up in designated pick-up lanes no earlier than 3:00 pm. Likewise, a driver may choose to arrive closer to 3:45 p.m. when most students have already been picked up.
Waiting areas on Erda Way will be designated with an orange cone. Please make sure that cars do not impede oncoming traffic or residential access. Any emergency vehicles must be able to pass without restriction. Space must be available in the entrance lanes prior to turning from the street. Space must also be kept open for cars to enter Erda Way when exiting the parking lot. Please Note: each family has a NEWLY assigned carpool number each school year!

|Each driver will place a hanging placard in the windshield or side window of the car, with a number written on the front. Please make the numbers BIG and BOLD so we are able to easily read the number (no napkins or sticky notes, please). This placard provides safety and ease for students and employees. It ensures that the person picking up the student(s) has permission to do so. Visibility assists employees in the calling process as well as providing smooth traffic flow. If you misplace or lose your placard, please replace it with another, located at the front office. Replacement placards are $1.00 each. Carpool pick up begins promptly at 3:30 p.m. (3:25 for Middle School).|
Students names will be projected into the classroom once their car arrives. By 3:45 pm all remaining students will be called down to carpool. Any students who are not picked up by 3:55 pm will be escorted into the office to call a parent or guardian. Students will be under the supervision of the front office secretary. The driver will need to fill out a late pick-up form for their student. Those consistently failing to pick up students by 4:00 pm will be contacted by administration.
CARPOOL IDLE TIME
|Did you know that more than 10 seconds of idling in a parked car uses more fuel that restarting the engine? Or that idling for two minutes uses the same amount of fuel as driving about one mile? The toxic compounds in vehicle emissions can be harmful to people, especially children. Whenever possible, please leave your car off while waiting in the carpool line.|
More information about idling and the Idle Free Campaign can be found at http://www.idlefree.utah.gov.
