Biography

I am originally from North Ogden, born and raised here in Utah by amazing parents who shared with me their love of nature! I did my undergraduate work at Weber State University and graduated with my Bachelors in Science and Elementary Education.  I have been teaching since 2008.  This is my second year teaching here at Excelsior Academy, and I am THRILLED to be here in 4th grade this year! My education background has primarily been with 2nd and 3rd graders in Weber School District.  I earned my Math Endorsement in 2018 with the state of Utah. I have a passion for teaching "smallish" humans! They are full of excitement, creativity, kindness, and wonder!  

I am a mother to 6 amazing children! We enjoy spending our time in the mountains riding mountain bikes, dirt bikes, and exploring new places! If there is one thing I would want my parents in my classroom to know it would be: I take my role as a teacher very seriously. I am with your children more than you are during their waking hours, it is my job to love them and create a safe place for them to learn and grow. Every year my own children have to share me with my classroom kids, and my family all refers to my classroom children as “our kids.” It truly does take a “village” to raise our children, thank you for trusting me with your beautiful children.
