Mathematics

Greetings! I joined the Excelsior Academy professional team in 2013. It has been a privilege to fulfill many different roles that have helped me grow. I've taught second and third grade (homeroom and ELA), sixth-eighth grade (math), and have worked with students from kindergarten through eighth grade (instructional coach, all subject areas). Working closely with the well-trained staff and professionals that Excelsior Academy provides is an honor.

As a child, I played school and developed a dream of becoming a teacher. I followed my goals and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with dual majors in Elementary Education and Special Education from Southern Utah University. I met my husband at Southern Utah University, and we have five daughters. I love to sew, craft, read, rollerblade, hike, paddle board, and be outdoors. I also enjoy chocolate.

I strive to bring love, joy, music, and laughter into the classroom daily! Learning can be fun and a great adventure. Being smart is "the willingness to try and learn." I believe in my students and encourage them to be lifelong learners and leaders. I want students to know that they are valued and loved. I hope they remember that if you are willing to try, "just think of happy thoughts; you will fly" (Peter Pan).
