Mrs. Deborah Farr

English Language Arts 8

Our family has been in love with Excelsior Academy since we began attending in 2011. All six of our children have attended here. It has been my dream to teach English here at Excelsior. In my younger years, I graduated with my AA in English Language Arts from Ricks College with the intent to become a writer. It was at Ricks that I discovered that I had a talent for teaching and that I absolutely loved it! While substitute teaching at Excelsior I discovered a passion for working with students with special needs. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-8) and am currently working on a Master’s degree in Special Education. I have taught fifth grade, 8th grade English Language Arts, Creative Writing, and ELA support classes here at Excelsior. I absolutely love reading, writing, and studying the English language and feel so blessed to have the opportunity to help inspire young people to enjoy it too!

In my spare time, I love to go camping, hiking, exploring scenic byways and geological wonders, and adventuring with my family. I also love hard work, organizing, and home makeover shows. I am so looking forward to this school year! It is going to be quite the adventure!
