Mrs. Sarah McCormick

Third Grade

After growing up in Virginia and California, I came to Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Home and Family Living and a second major in Elementary Education. My first exposure to knowing I loved teaching was being asked to teach for the adaptive needs seminary program at Timpview High and then an adult institute class at BYU. As a senior I added on Elementary Education as my second major to my long list of credits and immediately knew it was the right place for me. I finished school and was able to teach in both the public and private sectors and also began my own tutoring business. I then got married and took a break from teaching to have four beautiful children. During that break we lived in Utah, Idaho, Florida, and finally came back to Utah settling in Grantsville, Utah.

My hobbies are numerous beginning with music. I have played music since I was four with my focus being the harp. I love to learn and have a vast home library always trying to acquire books and read them. With a new home and large yard, I’m finally trying to develop a green thumb with a garden and orchard, learning as I go. My favorite thing to do is to teach and so this is a joy to be back in the classroom where I get the opportunity to do it all the time!
