FAQ
about
How do I apply for enrollment?
Applications are accepted in December. Two lotteries will be held (March and August).
Students are accepted through a lottery process. Excelsior Academy will hold a lottery twice a year, and through the lottery students are placed on a waitlist. As seats become available in each grade, students are invited, beginning at the top of the waitlist, to fill any vacancies.
How many students are accepted?
Excelsior Academy is chartered to enroll 1,415 total students. In grades K-5, 135 students per grade, and in grades 6-8 , 200 students per grade.
How will I be notified if my student is accepted?
Parents are contacted through email and a phone call. Please remember to keep all contact information updated. Further information on the registration process is given once the school is notified of your intent to enroll in Excelsior Academy.
When will I be notified if I am accepted?
The first group of students that are accepted will be notified within 5 business days of holding the lottery. Parents are given a period of time to accept or decline enrollment.
The process is continued for any openings throughout the school year.
If I am not accepted, will I be notified?
No. Only students who have been accepted from the wait list are notified. If you do not hear from us you can assume nothing has changed with your enrollment status.
