Biography

I have been teaching at Excelsior Academy since 2013 and have enjoyed it more and more every year. I have taught 3rd grade for 5 years and am looking forward, this year, to teaching 4th grade with a wonderful team. I am also the academic coach over reading. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Dixie State College in 2011, then served an 18-month mission in Oregon. In May, I graduated from The University of Utah with my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy. I am a 13th generation Grantsville girl and am married to my high school sweetheart, a 9th generation Grantsville boy. We are a classic small-town love story. We recently purchased our first home, next to my parents. We have a puppy named Lupo, who is our best friend. Some of my hobbies include gardening, playing musical instruments, staying busy, and teaching. My favorite thing about my job is watching children grow. I believe every child has individual talents and can be successful when they discover the ways they learn best. I am so lucky to watch, and take part in, that transformation every year. This year is set to be the best year yet!
