Mrs. Shelly Locklear

Third Grade

My name is Shelly Locklear. I am married with three young and very active children. I met my husband while I was working toward my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I spent several years working with adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities and I loved it! In 2015 I started working at a day treatment program for elementary aged children. I immediately fell in love with the children and the program. I quickly discovered that I was just as passionate about the educational portion of the program as I was with the treatment. I strongly believe that a quality education is an important part of healthy development, so after three years I decided that I wanted to pursue education. Last spring I had the opportunity to join the Excelsior team as a teacher intern and I am both excited and ready to teach 3rd grade this year!
