Biography

Hello! I'm Mrs. Cole and I'm excited to teach 5th grade this year. Fifth grade is such a pivotal year in education. It’s the year that students prepare to take the leap into middle school by developing independence, responsibility, and critical thinking skills. They dive deeper into complex texts, master multi-step math problems, and strengthen their writing and research abilities. Throughout the year, I find great joy in watching students grow in confidence, independence, and academic achievement.

My journey at Excelsior Academy started in 2019 as a classroom instructor. I quickly fell in love with the curriculum, the culture, the staff, and all of our amazing students. After a year in that role, I instantly knew I wanted to be part of the big picture at Excelsior and returned to school, graduating from Liberty University. I then moved into the role of the school's reading intervention specialist before starting my journey as a teacher.

I am married to my best friend, Brian. Together, we have four kids, all of which have gone to or are going to Excelsior Academy. Most of my free time is spent at the ballpark or spending time with my baseball family.
