Mrs. Marissa Maxfield

Assistant Elementary Director

My journey as an educator began in 2005 when I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I taught at South Jordan Middle School for 2 years, followed by 8 years of working in early childhood education as a teacher and preschool owner. When I began teaching kindergarten at Excelsior Academy in 2019, I knew I had found my professional home. I love bringing music and movement into my classroom as a supplement to the amazing curriculum offered at Excelsior Academy. Working with young children is truly my passion, and teaching is my dream job! 

My husband and I have three children and love living in Tooele County. I enjoy being on the water in a kayak, reading great novels, singing all types of music, and spending time with my family.
