Biography

My name is Rachel Yearby.  I have been teaching at Excelsior Academy since 2014. I am excited to use my education and employment experiences to add real world connections to classroom learning.  I was raised in Webb, Iowa on a corn and soybean farm. I moved to Utah in 1998 to attend Weber State University. I married my husband after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminalistics and a Minor in Chemistry.  Following my graduation, I worked for a Forensic Toxicology laboratory in Salt Lake City. My time in the lab came to an end in 2006 when I became a stay at home mom to two amazing children. I enjoy playing board games with my husband, riding 4-Wheelers with my family on our Iowa farm, reading, and training our Miniature Schnauzer.  I love science! I feel the more we learn about the physical world around us the better prepared we are to contribute and connect with our community.
